The D'Alenbert gambling system
Under the D'Alenbert system, a player should raise his or her bet by one unit for each bet following a losing bet. Conversely, for each bet following a wining bet, the bet should be lowered by one unit.Presumably you make some kind of allowance for a string of winning bets that lowers your stake to zero!The supposed logic behind this system, is that a string of losses will be mitigated by a higher value winning bet when it eventually comes. This is a similar approach, albeit far less aggressive than the Martingale system in which the bet is doubled after each loss.
The Martingale gambling system

The Martingale system is a well known system used in Roulette. The system dictates that you start with an initial bet on either red or black ('the original bet'). If your bet wins, you pocket the winnings and repeat this bet again. If the bet loses, you double the original bet. If this bet wins, you pocket your winnings and begin again with the original bet. If you lose again, you double up again, and continue to double up on successive losing bets until such time as you win, at which point you pocket your winnings and start again with your original bet.
The Martingale system can give you small, high-risk wins in the medium term. If you're a high-risk gambler who enjoys the thrill of placing high wagers for small profits, this system will suit your style.
The key to the Martingale is in recognizing when you're in an unbeatable losing streak. This is difficult because with this system you're always betting that the streak will end.If you use the Martingale system, bear in mind our overall strategy and decide for yourself when to cut your losses instead of chasing that 1 unit profit.The logic here, is that even after a large string of losing bets in a row, when you eventually have a win, you will cover all your losing bets and be ahead by an amount equal to your original bet. This is illustrated in the below table:
Pundits of this system argue that you can't lose because eventually you have to have a winning bet, at which point you are ahead right? This is correct, providing 2 things don't occur that are the undoing of many a Martingale player:
1. you reach the table maximum bet before you get chance to win - eg in the example above if the table max bet is $500, then you're in trouble after 7 losses in a row, with no way of covering your losses.
2. you run out of money! You can see from the above table that required bets climb rapidly, so even if the casino offers a big maximum bet, you'll need deep pockets to avoid disaster.
The Grand Martingale
A variation of the Martingale system is the Grand Martingale. It differs in that when a player loses they not only double there bet but they also add an additional bet. So for example if your first $2 bet on red lost your next bet would be doubled to $4 plus an additional bet of $2 so a total of $6. If you lose again your next bet would be double the previous total bet, so for example 6 x 2 is $12 plus an additional bet making a total bet of $14.
The reason players might choose this system is that when you win your actually better off a bet for every round you have played. Different from the original Martingale where you are increasing your bets just to be one bet better off over the course of a number of rounds.
The disadvantage of this system is that it you can double up less often before you hit the casino limits.
Therefore your more likely to hit a losing streak and lose all your money for that session.
The Anti-Martingale System
The Anti-Martingale system is another variation of of the standard Martingale system which differs in the fact that a player increases there bets when they win and not when they lose. The idea behind this is that when a player is running hot and winning, they win big, but when there luck is low and they are losing then losses are kept to a minimum.
The player needs to decide in advance how many spins they will play the system for and keep doubling up. How many spins is chosen will be entirely dependant on the player. Some may be happy starting with a $2 bet be happy to just keep doubling up to $8 or $16 bets, whereas others may like the thrill of keeping going and betting larger amounts up to $256 - $512 and potentially winning a larger amount from there initial small stake of $2.
An example of the Anti-Martingale system in action would be a $2 bet on red.
If red comes up and you win $2, your next bet will be $4. If you win that bet you then bet $8 on the next spin and so on doubling up after every win. Keep going until you have reached your set number of spins.
If you lose on any of the spins, your next bet will be just one single betting unit.
The Gland Martingale System
This is another variation of the standard Martingale system. Although with this particular system you spend alot of time watching the roulette wheel and only placing a few bets.
You can use this system on any of the even money bets, such as red or black. What you do is wait for 5 consecutive results to appear and then place a bet on the following round on the opposite outcome. So for example if 5 reds appear in a row, you then place 1 bet on black. If you win, you then start watching the wheel again and wait for another combination of 5 even bets, maybe 5 evens etc.
However, if you lose the first bet you then double your bet on the next round.
If you lose again you quit and start waiting for 5 even bets to appear again.The Gland Martingale system is one that may appeal to player who doesn't mind the waiting and then the thrill of the outcome for the few bets they do place.Many live casinos have scoreboards which show the results of the previous 10 spins or more, the same is normally the case for online roulette games.
If not you would have to record the results yourself.
A player could obviously choose to adjust the system by betting after 4 of the same result, or betting after 6 or more of the same result.

D'Alembert System
Jean Le Rond d' Alembert came up with this betting system for bets which offer 50-50 or near 50-50 outcome, so is ideal for teh even money bets of roulette. The system was based around the theory of "nature seeking equilibrium". Therefore if one outcome begins to dominate the results then its more likely in the future that the other opposite outcome will dominate in the future.
So for the game of roulette if an even money bet such as red has come up a number of times then you should start betting on black. As for the actual betting, the principle is that you add a single bet unit when you lose and decrease your bet by a single bet unit when you win.
So an example of the D' Alembert system would be if you were just betting $1 units and lost, your next bet would be $2. If you lost again, your following bet would be $3. If on the next betting round you won, your next bet would decrease by one unit and therefore be a $2 bet.
The problem with the system and equilibrium is that any bets you place will be in such a small quantity in relation to the long term equilibrium, which is something that could take millions of bets and still not be exact equilibrium. Its quite feasible for you to have long losing streaks. So its likely you will have lot of small winning sessions but, when you lose its likely to be a big loss.
Fibonacci System
Leonardo Pisano better known as Fibonacci was a mathematician from the middle ages. He came up with the Fibonacci numbers 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987, where if you look at the sequence of numbers, each number is the total of the 2 previous numbers. For example, 34 is made up of 13+ 21.Now, when used in betting you simply place your first bet. If you win, you just bet again. However if you lose, then you start using the system by writing down 1. Your next bet would again be 1. Lose again you then bet 2. Lose again bet 3, lose again next bet is 5 and so on. If during the sequence you win a round you work backwards in the sequence and bet the lesser amount.Some people advocate starting the Fibonacci system with just one singular bet which means you'll be working up to big bets that one round soon down the line.
Its an interesting system to try out. You don't have to follow the system right on through. Some players limit themselves to just 5 or 8 bets and then start the system again. This obviously limits your losses if you did hit a long losing streak.
Oscar's Grind Betting System
This system was named after a dice player who used the bet for playing the pass line bet in craps. The aim of the system is to bet a sequence until a one unit bet has been won.
The system works like this, if you lose a bet your next bet will be of the same value. If you win a bet your next bet will be one unit higher unless that total bet would mean if you won you would be more than one unit better off over the whole sequence. The objective is to just win a single bet unit.
To start off simple, if you placed a $2 bet on red and it won, then you have won one unit ($2) and that's the end. You have achieved the objective of winning one betting unit ($2).
So really the system begins when your first bet loses. If you bet your $2 on red and lose your $2's down. As you lost your next bet will be of the same value, so again $2. If you lose this second bet your $4 down. Your third bet would again be $2. You lost so it remains the same value. Now, if this 3rd bet wins, your $2 down overall, but because you won you can add 1 unit to your next bet, so you bet $4, if that bet wins its the end of the sequence as you will be $2 up and have achieved your objective of being 1 betting unit better off.Before starting out on this Oscar's Grind system make sure you have a set stop loss maximum bet figure per sequence. If you reach this then accept the loss and start a new sequence.
It's an interesting system to try out. Its quite likely you'll keep your betting levels fairly low. If you have a long run of losses then you won't be losing too much as your only increasing your betting wagers when your winning.
The Cuban Betting System
This system was in use pre Fidel Castro in Cuba. Basically a player bets one unit on the third column and another one unit bet on black. The reason for this combination of bets is that there are only 4 black numbers in the third column and 8 red. Therefore if one of the 8 red numbers from the third column comes up you will have won one unit. However if a number from the first or second column comes up there's a higher chance it will be a black number, for which you'll be break even if one of those's comes up.
Obviously if a red number from the first or second column does come up you will lose both bets. Of course if one of the 4 black numbers from the third column come up you win 2 bets.
The Cuban betting system is an interesting way to play especially to those players who like to keep betting amounts low and not increase there wagers. However mathematically its not a system which overcomes the house edge in the long run.
Betting 1-to-18 or 19-36
These bets pay 1to1 just like bets on colours or odd or even. However, this is a one time win or lose system. It has a total of either one or two bets per time. Again it is best to watch the game until the ball has not landed on either half of the numbers. Then after say 7 straight spins like this,place a larger bet on the 1 of numbers that has not come in for the last 7 spins. (As much as you wish to bet-
I usually go with $10-$25). If you win you have won a good sum of money; if you lose you can do one of two things: quit and wait for anotherchance to come up, or place the same bet again plus $1.
